A proud mum has praised her hero 11-year-old son who has saved her life – again and again.

Lizzie Arora Harmon, 34, was choking on an apple when her son James came to the rescue.

The quick-thinking youngster rushed to the car and grabbed an anti-choking device called a LifeVac.

He put the device over her mouth and dislodged the apple from her windpipe.

But this isn’t the first time James has come to the rescue and has helped get crucial medical care for his mum multiple times.

Lizzie, from Reydon, Suffolk, said she was ‘terrified’ after the incident last week and didn’t know how her son stayed so calm.

She told Metro: ‘I feel very lucky to be able to say that James is my son.’

Lizzie had the choking rescue device because James had saved her life once before.

Earlier last year, then 10-year-old James’s 999 call meant he stopped his mum suffocating to death.

She said: ‘Paramedics have actually said if he wasn’t able to ring for help, I would have died that day.’

It is not just choking that James has rescued his mum from.

A few months ago, James found his mum, who has suspected coronary artery disease, unconscious on the landing.

She had gone upstairs to get her GTN Spray, which widens blood vessels and increases blood flow to the heart, but she didn’t make it.

James found his mum, called 999 andwas able to tell them her name, date of birth, and age, and in the process saving his mum’s life.

James is not only talented at saving lives, but at the piano too, which he taught himself to play at the age of five.

Once he’s heard a song just once, he can go to a keyboard and figure out how to play it.

His dream is to become a famous musician and ‘change the world with music’, as he puts it.

The 11-year-old has been able to help his mum at crucial moments despite how his autism affects his skills and ability to cope under stress.

Lizzie explained: ‘Day-to-day life can be quite difficult, he can become very overwhelmed, very upset.

‘It’s quite hard looking at all the things that he’s had to overcome, but he just adapts so well.’

‘James is such a kind kid, he is not your typical boy.’
