Police officer dies on duty in ‘unexplained’ death post thumbnail image

A police officer has died while on duty.

PC Ian Minett of Gloucestershire Constabulary died while working on Saturday morning.

The force said his death is being treated as unexplained, but not suspicious.

The coroner has been informed.

A spokesperson for the force said: ‘We extend our thoughts and prayers to Pc Minett’s family, friends and colleagues, and we ask that his family are given privacy at this difficult time.’

Adam Williams, chairman of Gloucestershire Police Federation, said: ‘I was lucky enough to work with Ian and he was well liked amongst all that had the pleasure of working alongside him and getting to know him.

‘It is a massive loss to the shift, the station, and to the Constabulary as a whole.’
