A man has been charged with manslaughter over the death of a seven-month-old baby boy in Gympie, Queensland.

The boy’s mother called emergency services after pulling him from a lake at Chatsworth Park on Gympie Curra Road about 10.40am on Sunday morning.

He was taken to hospital but was declared dead later that night.

Police are investigating the death of a seven-month-old boy who was pulled from a lake in Queensland. Emergency services were called to Gympie Curra Road in Chatsworth at 10.30am on Saturday after the child was found unresponsive.

Today, police arrested a 42-year-old man known to the child in Bundamba.

He was charged with manslaughter (domestic violence) and will face Ipswich Magistrates Court tomorrow.
