Four Melbourne men will face court next month over betting on the AFL’s biggest individual prize.

Detectives revealed the four were charged yesterday over alleged suspicious gambling related to the 2021 and 2022 Brownlow Medal awards.

A 34-year-old Glenroy man, a 32-year-old Doreen man, a 31-year-old Hadfield man, and a 35-year-old Reservoir man have all been charged with multiple offences, including cheating at gambling and corrupt conduct.

Officers also carried out multiple search warrants in “varying suburbs” around Melbourne during the investigation.

The four men will appear in court on September 11.

Police said the maximum penalty for anybody found guilty of such offences was 10 years in prison.
