Two people have been arrested after a nurse was racially abused while out walking with her family in a park.
Apple, who has worked on the NHS for 15 years after moving from the Philippines, was out walking with her mother in Manor Heath Park, Halifax, on Thursday.
She was approached by a man and woman in their 60s who began spouting racial hatred.
The woman told her ‘You can’t even speak English’, while the man mimicked the actions of rowing a boat saying: ‘Have you come off a rubber boat? Did you come across the channel? Ban the immigrants.’
Apple said: ‘But I look after you. I’m in healthcare.’
The man said: ‘Why don’t you just f*ck off,’ then motioned to his small white dog, urging it to ‘kill’ Apple.

‘I love what I do, but some people aren’t worth my time or my care. Justice must be served.’
Apple, her mum and a witness who intervened were assaulted by the couple.

Last week, police arrested a man for vandalism after people were seen painting England flags above a high street in Essex.
In a viral video, two topless men appeared to climb on top of a shopping parade in Whitmore Way, Basildon.
They paint several England flags on top of the estate before one of them appears to shout a racist slur at a woman walking with a child.
Essex Police detectives, investigating the video now seen more than 5.8million times on X, said they had arrested a 33-year-old man on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence and conspiracy to commit criminal damage.
He has been questioned and released on bail.
An Essex police spokesman said: ‘Officers investigating reports of criminal damage and a racially aggravated incident in Basildon have made an arrest.
‘This follows multiple reports received from the public reporting a video circulating online showing individuals applying paint to the exterior of several properties in Whitmore Way.
‘At one stage in the video, racist abuse is audibly and visibly directed at a woman who is passing by alongside some children.’
