A 14 and 15-year-old boy have been detained in connection with the death of Glasgow teenager Amen Teklay, 15.
Amen, an Eritrean refugee, died from fatal injuries on Clarendon Street, Glasgow, at around 10.30 pm on Wednesday evening.
Police and paramedics rushed to the scene near St George’s Cross, but the schoolboy could not be saved.
Police Scotland have now said two boys, aged 14 and 15 years old, had been arrested in connection with the death.
The 14-year-old boy has been charged and will appear in Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday.
Amen’s sister, Delina, 17, told BBC Scotland that her brother was ‘kind and bright’.

‘He was the one I could go and talk to about anything. We grew up together so we were very close. I just think this is a dream and I’m going to wake up tomorrow. I’m still in denial.
‘My dad is devastated, he’s not eating at all or drinking anything. We’re all devastated, it’s shocking.’
The family are originally from Eritrea but has lived in Glasgow for around eight years, the BBC said. Amen had recently gained the ‘right to remain’ in the UK.
A vigil is planned for later this afternoon at a football park in Scotstoun, where Amen lived.
Jamie O’Neill, Amen’s support worker at Kingsway Community Connections, told the BBC: ‘His young friends at school were wondering what they could do and came up with the idea that they should hold a vigil. It’s their way to pay tribute to their friend, come together and support each other.’

DCI Campbell Jackson said: ‘Our thoughts remain with Amen’s family and friends at this very difficult time. I would also like to thank the community for their support so far.
‘Our investigation continues and I would ask anyone, who may have information which could help us and who has not yet come forward, to please contact us.’
