Donald Trump has released his first reaction to the incursion of Russian drones overnight.

In a cryptic post on his Truth Social account, he said: ‘What’s with Russia violating Poland’s airspace with drones? Here we go.’

This comes after Poland invoked Nato’s Article 4 – which provides for the possibility of joint consultations between allies.

Prime minister Donald Tusk warned his country is as close to a conflict as it has been since World War II after the country’s military recorded at least 19 drones violating its airspace, saying: ‘I have no reason to claim that we are on the brink of war, but a line has been crossed, and it is incomparably more dangerous than before.’
