A teenager has been stabbed to death in Manchester.
The boy, 15, was attacked this afternoon in Moss Side, a neighbourhood about two miles south of the city centre.
He was given CPR at the scene but was declared dead soon after ambulance crews arrived at 4.30pm.
The death of the teen, who has not been named, followed a ‘disturbance involving a number of people’, the police said.
Officers enforced a section 60 – which allows police officers to stop and search anyone without reasonable suspicion – until 5.20pm.

Photographs taken at around 8pm by Manchester Evening News show multiple police officers and forensic teams at the scene.
A blue police evidence tent has been pitched near the junction with Lloyd Street North.
Moss Lane East is closed between Lloyd Street North and Broadfield Road, while Morton Street and part of Lloyd Street North have also been closed.
Chief Superintendent David Meeney said a murder investigation has been launched into the ‘appalling’ death.
He added: ‘Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends after this tragic and upsetting incident, and our specially trained officers will be supporting them at this difficult time.
‘We have officers in the area as we work to establish the circumstances that led up to the incident.
‘This incident will understandably have caused shock and concern within the community and the surrounding area, particularly those who witnessed it.’
Meeney said there will be an increased police presence in the area this week.
