A man has been charged with murder after a man was stabbed to death in Coventry on Saturday.
The victim – Anthony Wilson, 50 – was named for the first time by police on Monday.
His family said: ‘We are profoundly sorry that his life has been taken in his way.
‘The tragic circumstances are particularly distressing and we are grateful to learn of the help and support received at the time from his neighbours and friends.’
Mr Wilson was dead by the time police arrived at a house on Newcombe Road, in the Earlsdon area, around 2pm on Saturday.
A second man, also in his 50s, has survived with potentially life-changing stab wounds to his face. He remains in hospital and has not been named.
James Ritchie, 51, of no fixed address, has now been charged with murder and attempted murder.

He is due to appear at Coventry Magistrates Court on Monday.
Police said: ‘Officers will be carrying out additional patrols in the area to reassure and support the local community over the coming days and we urge anyone with concerns or information to contact us.’

Local councillor Kindy Sandhu said: ‘This is tragic news for our community. I think of the pain and grief that many are experiencing and send my condolences.’
Kerry Lindsay wrote online: ‘I was coming home from work today and seeing the police cordon was just terrible.
‘Just heartbreaking to hear of another life lost.’
Juliette Bravo added: ‘I saw the police cordon when I was putting the rubbish in our wheelie bin, never thought it was something as serious as this.’
