A NSW man has been jailed for 31 years for killing his daughter's fiance months before the couple were due to be married.

His intentions were seemingly clear.

“That’s the one that’s going to put him to sleep,” he could be heard saying.

“See you later f—— Damien,” he said.

“You’re f—— gone. You’re gone.”

Today, Simon was sentenced to 31 years jail for the murder of his soon-to-be son-in-law.

Court documents revealed the relationship between the pair two soured when they and Simon’s daughter Linda began living at the same property.

Things reportedly escalated when Simon was served a document asking him to vacate the granny flat he agreed to live in so the couple could start renovations to the main house.

The murder took place months before Linda and Damien were due to get married.

In a victim impact statement, Linda said that Simon could not face Conolon “like a man and have a conversation like a human being”.

She added that Simon’s actions had “robbed their four children of a father’s love,” and said her son still walked around the house looking for his dad

Simon will be eligible for parole in 22 years.
