Captain Sir Tom Moore’s daughter has been branded ‘shameless’ following reports she plans to release a new book on coping with the death of her late father.

Hannah Ingram-Moore and her husband Colin, 67, previously made £1.5 million from a book deal launched in her father’s name – but failed to give any of the proceeds to charity as promised.

The Captain Tom foundation was set up following the NHS fundraising hero’s death in 2021 as an attempt to continue his legacy.

But a damning Charity Commission report last November found the Ingram-Moores had instead used the charity to enrich themselves, creating cushy ‘management’ jobs for themselves and paying ‘consultancy fees’ to companies also run by the family.

The charities watchdog concluded there had been repeated instances of misconduct by the veteran's daughter, Hannah Ingram-Moore and her husband, Colin. Issue date: Thursday November 21, 2024. The couple were also eventually ordered to demolish the luxury spa built at their home in Bedfordshire, and have since put the £2.2 million property on the market.

Despite this, Ms Ingram-Moore, who is a director of a management consultant firm, is reportedly to release a new self-published titled ‘Grief: Public Face, Private Loss’ later this week.

A source told the Sun: ‘It appears to be another attempt to cash in.

‘While the book does not use his name, it seems it will feature his death and give tips to the public on how to cope with grief.

‘Hannah is totally shameless and still doesn’t think she has done much wrong.

‘While most people would be lying low, instead she is releasing a self-help book.’

They added: ‘But it is quite telling that she is self-publishing – as no big publisher would go near her.’

World War Two veteran Tom Moore entered the public consciousness during the Covid pandemic in 2020, when he raised £39 million for the NHS by walking 100 laps around his garden in the days before his 100th birthday.

He was knighted months later and died aged 100 in 2021.

Following his death, a charity – The Captain Tom foundation – was set up by his family, who quickly signed an advance for a £1.47 million charity book deal which was paid to Club Nook, a private company set up by the couple in April 2020.

But only £18,000 – £1 a copy from sales of the first book – went to the charity, while the Ingram-Moores kept around £800,000 for themselves.

In a TV interview, Ms Ingram-Moore claimed her father wanted his family to keep the profits from the books Captain Tom’s Life Lessons, One Hundred Steps and Tomorrow Will Be A Good Day and insisted readers were never told the money would go to charity.

Ms Ingram-Moore told Piers Morgan the books were ‘never anything to do with charity’, and said: ‘They were Captain Tom’s books and his wishes were that that money would sit in Club Nook.’

But in the prologue of the third book, an autobiography, the veteran appeared to think his books were just another outlet for his fundraising.

An extract written by Sir Tom Moore read: ‘Astonishingly at my age, with the offer to write this memoir I have also been given the chance to raise even more money for the charitable foundation now established in my name.’

In an interview with GB News, Ms Ingram-Moore said she believes her father would think the way her family has been treated is ‘despicable.’

‘My father and he had a very strong opinion of right and wrong, and he would think how we’ve been treated was despicable. I can only be given the chance to tell what we know to be true, and allow people to make up their own minds.’
