Two teenage boys have been arrested after a viral video showed a chair being launched from a balcony in Stratford Westfield, narrowly missing a shopper.
A 14-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy have been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage after viral footage showed a ‘heavy seat’ thrown from the buildings third floor.
The chair can be seen being dropped from a height, and landing on the ground with a heavy crash just inches away from a male shopper.
Someone can be heard saying: ‘There’s no way this guy’s doing this, oh my God.
The video, which was uploaded to Tiktok and Snapchat, was captioned: ‘No way bro almost killed someone.’
Afterwards three boys – the one who threw the seat, one filming, and another boy – were recorded running away from the scene, shouting as they ran up an escalator.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed two teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage.
They added: ‘This was a serious incident and we would encourage anyone who may have further information to contact the police.’
Social media users have condemned the footage, with some even accusing the boy who threw the chair of attempted murder.
One commenter said: ‘If there was a mother and a pram with her baby underneath then no one survives that.
‘It’s attempted murder and he should be found.’
