A car crash involving four teenagers has claimed its third life after another of the victims succumbed to his injuries.
Jenson Bridges, 17, from Brewood, Staffordshire, died on Sunday night, two days after the crash which also killed Jacob Holeman, 17, from Codsall, Staffordshire, and Simon Evans, 18, from Perton, Wolverhampton.
They were taken to hospital along with another 17-year-old boy after a silver Audi A1 crashed just after 11pm on Friday on Offoxey Road in Tong, Shropshire.
The surviving victim remained in hospital on Monday in a stable condition with injuries said to be life-changing.
Bystanders tried to save Simon’s but paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene, police said.
Jacob died in hospital the day after the crash.
West Mercia Police’s Steph Arrowsmith said: ‘Sadly, three teenagers have died and one remains in hospital with life-changing injuries in this tragic incident and our thoughts are with all of those who have been affected.
‘We continue to carry out enquiries into the collision and I would like to thank everybody who has contacted us so far with information to assist with our investigation.’
Detectives are asking anyone who saw the crash or has dashcam footage of the car involved to get in touch.
Insp Arrowsmith added that the Audi A1 was travelling with a red Vauxhall Corsa and a black VW Golf – and while those vehicles weren’t involved, she hopes ‘this may help to jog people’s memories’.
A force spokesperson added that no arrests have been made in connection with the crash.
