A member of Sydney’s social elite has spent half the weekend locked up, after allegedly assaulting a police officer.
Vanessa Jacobs Fennell was arrested in front of stunned diners at Bellevue Hill in Sydney’s east, accused of drunkenly crashing her luxury SUV into several parked cars.
Her Range Rover allegedly shows dents, scratch marks and shredded tyres.

Before police arrived, diners pulled the allegedly drunk woman from the car.
One of them told The Sydney Morning Herald Jacobs Fennell had been drinking and doing laps around the area.
As officers later hauled her towards a police van, she broke free, appearing to slap one of the officers.
She’s been charged with refusing to submit to a breath test, assaulting police and not giving particulars to the owners of the damaged cars.
Jacobs Fennell was shortlisted for the Real Housewives of Sydney but never made the cut.
Gossip pages once described her as a charity fundraiser.
After spending the night in a police cell she was released on bail to front Waverley Court on April 1.
