A police officer has remained tight-lipped as he left court after being charged with raping a woman twice in half an hour.

Constable Jayden Turk is accused of sexually assaulting a woman after he met her at a hotel in September 2023.

After a lengthy investigation, the 25-year-old was arrested in February and charged with two counts of sexual intercourse without consent.

He was suspended without pay from NSW Police following his arrest but had not been on active duty since November 2023.

Most of the brief of evidence against Turk has been collected but prosecutors are still awaiting an outstanding report, Newtown Local Court was told today.

Magistrate Alexander Mijovich adjourned the case for three months to allow the parties to hold discussions.

Turk will remain on bail until he returns to court on July 8.

With his head bowed he remained silent as he strode out of the courthouse alongside his lawyer.
