A blazing meteor has lit up the early morning sky in Perth and across Western Australia.
Experts are now searching to find out if – or where – the meteor landed.
The spectacle left residents stunned about 6am today.

It was seen across the state from Kalgoorlie to Mandurah.
Matt Woods from Perth Observatory said it was “one hell of a meteor”.
“That was very nice, nice little surprise for Mother’s Day,” he said.
Predictions show the meteor was between the size of a cricket ball and a basketball.
“It’s going anywhere between 16 to 60 kilometres per second, that friction builds up, it melts and that’s how we see that lovely green,” Woods said.

Scientists say the meteor seems to have passed over the central wheatbelt but they’re not entirely sure where it may have landed.
That’s something they’ll work to figure out over the coming days.
