A fire broke out at Sir Keir Starmer’s £2million home in north west London today.
The ‘small’ blaze erupted at around 1.10am at the prime minister’s town house in Kentish Town.
The flames damaged the door, but no one was injured.
Police said they were treating the blaze as suspicious and the counter-terrorism command, SO15, are leading the investigation.
The fire brigade told Metro that officers were called to a ‘small fire outside a property’ at 1.11am.
‘The fire was under control by 1.33am,’ the brigade said. ‘Two fire engines from Kentish Town Fire Station attended the scene.’
A neighbour told The Sun they heard a ‘loud bang, like glass shattering’ before the fire broke out.
The police said: ‘As a precaution and due to the property having previous connections with a high-profile public figure, officers from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command are leading the investigation into this fire. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the potential cause of the fire.
‘The cause of the fire continues to be investigated but at this stage is being treated as suspicious.’
A Downing Street spokesman added: ‘The prime minister thanks the emergency services for their work.

Sir Keir bought the four-bedroom terraced property in 2004 for £650,000 – roughly £1,150,000 today – and paid off their mortgage last September.
He now lives at 10 Downing Street.
