A Sydney woman has died in hospital after an alleged domestic violence assault on Saturday.
Lauren Hopkins, 47, was attacked inside her home on Morehead Street in Redfern, allegedly by her son, Mitchell Hopkins, 30.
She was treated by paramedics before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a critical condition where she died at 5.40pm yesterday.

9News understands police will allege the mother was bashed inside the unit and no weapon was involved.
Mitchell Hopkins has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent (DV).
He appeared via video link as his matter was briefly mentioned at a Parramatta court on Sunday.
He will now undergo a mental health assessment and remains behind bars, with his next court date set for July 10.
Police investigations continue.
