The housemate of missing Bundaberg 17-year-old Pheobe Bishop has been taken into custody.

Queensland Police said James Wood, 34, is assisting with enquiries during the investigation and no charges have been laid.

Pheobe’s housemates — Wood and his partner Tanika Bromley — were the last people to see her after they dropped her off at Bundaberg Airport to fly to Western Australia via Brisbane about 8.30am on May 15.

Bromley and her partner James Wood, who she's now forbidden from contacting, were the last people to see Bishop alive.

Pheobe was meant to visit her boyfriend in Western Australia but, according to police, never checked in for her flight or entered the terminal.

Police, with the help of the Homicide Investigation Unit, are continuing to investigate Pheobe’s suspicious disappearance, but earlier today suspended all physical searches for her.

“There are currently no physical searches for Pheobe at this stage, however physical searches will happen as needed and as information is provided,” a Queensland Police spokesperson said.

“Investigations are ongoing and police are continuing to run out several lines of enquiry.”

Today marked 20 days since Pheobe’s disappearance.

Her mother, Kylie Johnson, took to social media to say she started the day “still missing” her.

“I don’t know if life will ever be the same again? I don’t know if I will ever look at the world the same way that I did before May 15th,” she said.

Johnson said she knew that people had information on Pheobe’s whereabouts and urged them to come forward.

“What I do know is that people have information on where you are Phee and we need that reported to police,” she said.

The search for Pheobe Bishop continues.

Last week, police suspended their search of the Good Night Scrub National Park, about an hour away from where Pheobe was last seen, which had been a focus in the investigation.

There, officers had seized some items linked to her disappearance, but have been tight-lipped about what those are.

Police believe some evidence had been moved from the bushland prior to their search.

Pheobe Bishop, 17, was last seen at Airport Drive outside Bundaberg Regional Airport about 8.30am on May 15.

Two crime scenes have been declared — the home in Gin Gin where Pheobe lived with Wood and Bromley, and her housemate’s grey Hyundai ix35 with registration 414EW3.

A search of the car led police to allegedly find a shortened firearm, ammunition, and two replica handguns.

More ammunition was allegedly found at a home in Gin Gin.

Bromley and Wood have since been charged with unrelated weapons offences.

They remain before the courts on the weapons charges.

Pheobe is described as about 180 centimetres tall, with a pale complexion, long dyed red hair, and hazel eyes.

She was last seen carrying luggage, which is also missing, and wearing a green tank top and grey sweatpants.

Her family has described her disappearance as out of character.

Police are appealing to anyone with information, vision or sightings of the grey Hyundai ix35 with registration 414EW3 between May 15 to 18 in the greater Gin Gin area to come forward.
