
A driver has been killed after his car crashed on the A14 in Cambridgeshire.
The man, 28, from Northstowe, Cambridge, was driving along the A14 eastbound when he crashed on the dual carriageway near Spaldwick.
The emergency services rushed to the scene at about 2am, but he died at the scene.
He was the only person in the car, and no other vehicles were involved, the police said.
A stretch of the A14 between J13 (Thrapston) and J22 (Brampton) was closed for hours before it reopened at about 9am today following an investigation.

Sergeant Mark Atkins said: ‘Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who sadly lost his life. His family are being supported by our specially trained family liaison officers.
‘Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, and we are appealing to anyone who saw the collision to contact us.’
Drivers faced long delays on the main route connecting Kettering, Thrapston and Huntingdon after the collision.
An ambulance, an ambulance officer vehicle and a Hazardous Area Response Team vehicle attended the scene.
National Highways warned motorists of 60-minute delays on approach westbound and 45-minute delays eastbound. Traffic queues snaked back to J23 (A1198) during peak rush hour.
Local village roads could become congested as the A14 normally takes the brunt of traffic between Thrapston and Huntingdon.
National Highways said: ‘Emergency services including Cambridgeshire Police are in attendance.
‘National Highways contractors will also be assisting with traffic management.
‘Due to the nature of the incident, the road is expected to be closed for a significant length of time, this is to allow for Police collision investigation works to take place.’
Some drivers were caught within the road closure for more than two hours while the emergency services responded to try and save the man.
Traffic was released westbound at about 5am, National Highways said.
