Police are hunting the driver of a stolen car after he allegedly drove through a major shopping centre in Melbourne.

Police say they tried to block a white Landcruiser outside Northland Shopping Centre in Preston about 4pm before the male driver allegedly took “evasive action to avoid the police” and drove through the middle of the shopping centre.

Shoppers described hearing screaming as the Landcruiser allegedly drove at-speed through the centre.

A video captured the car erratically driving through the centre.

Remarkably, no one was struck by the car and there are no reported injuries.

The car was captured on video smashing through another set of glass doors, where it left the centre.

It was last seen travelling towards Wood Street.

Emergency services are on scene in Preston.

Emergency services are present at the scene, where all shops are closed and shoppers are being evacuated.

One woman was treated for shock, according to Ambulance Victoria.

It’s the second security incident at the centre in a month, after a machete brawl broke out, sparking a snap ban on the sale of the weapons in Victoria.
