A 14-year-old boy has been arrested after a report of rape in a town in Surrey.

The alleged sex attack was reported to have happened near Chertsey Library on June 27 at around 7pm.

A 15-year-old girl was with a friend when they were approached by two males, one of whom later assaulted the girl, Surrey Police said.

An earlier rape investigation near Chertsey Bridge is not linked to the teenager’s arrest and has now concluded, a spokesman confirmed.

Giving an update, Inspector Ian Nash said: ‘I can advise that a 14-year-old male has been arrested in connection with this on-going enquiry.
