Footage captured a terrifying arrest outside a youth centre in Melbourne’s north last night.
Police were called to Motto Drive in Coolaroo just before 6pm yesterday following reports an armed man was behaving erratically outside the Hume Islamic Youth Centre.
Officers attempted to intercept a white Toyota SUV in the car park, before the driver got out of the car wielding a knife, police said.

Mobile phone footage showed police tackling the man to arrest him after he was tasered.
Bystanders appeared to kick the man while he was on the ground, with one pushing a shopping trolley towards him.
The alleged weapon, which 9News understands was wrestled from the man, was visible in the video.
A 43-year-old Craigieburn man has been interviewed by police over the incident.
No charges have been laid.
Police do not believe the incident was religiously motivated.
