A teenage girl has been arrested over a fatal stabbing west of Newcastle in NSW.
Emergency services were called to Euston Close, Edgeworth, about 10.20pm yesterday, following reports of a stabbing.
Police found a teenage girl with an injury to her torso.

She was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital in a critical condition, but later died from her injuries.
She is yet to be formally identified.
A teenage girl – who officers say was known to the victim – was arrested at the scene and is helping police with inquiries.
Officers established a crime scene, which will be forensically examined by specialist officers today.
An investigation is underway, with assistance from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad.
