
A man killed on the Isle of Sheppey has been named following his death on a beach.
The fatal incident happened in Leysdown-on-Sea on the Kent island on Sunday, where the man was allegedly hit on the head with stones.
The emergency services rushed to the scene at about 7pm after reports of an ‘altercation’ involving a ‘small group’ of people in the Warden Bay Road area
They found the victim, Alexander Cashford, with serious injuries.

The police said: ‘It is alleged the victim was assaulted following a disturbance involving a small group of people. Multiple injuries to the man’s body were reported.’
Eyewitnesses said people at the beach tried to give him CPR and stem the bleeding with tissues, according to the Sun.
He was declared dead at the scene.
Shortly after, two teenage boys and a girl, all from London, were arrested and taken into custody.


Witnesses in the seaside town of Leysdown claimed that the man was ‘hit with stones and rocks’ before his death, the Sun reports.
Anthony West, from Jimmy G’s Amusements nearby, said he saw the teens being arrested in the arcade.
He told the Sun: ‘I was working in the ice cream shop across the road at the time.
‘I heard a commotion so came outside to see what was going on.
‘There were four cop cars parked out the front.
‘One of the boys was in handcuffs in the car.’

Two boys aged 14 and 15 and a 16-year-old girl were charged with murder by joint venture yesterday.
The teenagers remained in custody to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court.
Meanwhile, a 12-year-old girl, who was arrested on August 12 in Basildon in connection with the incident, remains in custody.
The investigation continues, and any witnesses who have not yet spoken to the police have been asked to contact Kent Police.
